Sub-programs
Sustainable Forestry Initiative Chain of Custody and Labeling
We are the only internationally recognized accreditation body in Canada offering the Sustainable Forestry Initiative Chain of Custody and Labeling Sub-program, which is based on the SFI Chain-of-Custody Standard. As a pre-requisite, certification bodies must also be accredited to and ISO/IEC 17065, the international standard for providing product, process and services certification.
Organizations turn to SCC-accredited certification bodies for third-party oversight and SFI certification. SFI is an independent, non-profit organization, that works to address local and global sustainability challenges. It works with the forest sector, brand owners, conservation groups, resource professionals, landowners, educators, local communities, Indigenous Peoples, governments, and universities.
We are signatories to the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA) for ISO/IEC 17065. This means that certification by SCC-accredited certification bodies in this program is widely accepted internationally.
