All customers, applicants, assessors and inspectors in all SCC accreditation and recognition programs.

 

Background

As part of a regular review, SCC updated its Accreditation Program Overview. This document’s primary purpose is to outline how accreditation programs are organized and how they operate.

 

New requirements

The following highlights the changes in the updated document:

  • Additional statements are included in the Transfer of Accreditation section starting on page 22.
  • The Complaints section starting on page 32 is updated to clarify the process.
  • The following are added to annexes:
    • CBs certifying Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS) (ISO 22301)
      ISO/IEC TS 17021-6:2014 Conformity Assessment – Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems, Part 6: Competence requirements for auditing and certification of business continuity management systems (page 40)
    • Clean Fuel Regulations Scheme (page 59)
    • Laboratories performing Analyses of Food (United States Food and Drug Administration)
      Final Rule on Laboratory Accreditation for Analyses of Foods (LAAF) (page 61)

 

Deadline

The revised Accreditation Program Overview comes into effect on 2023-03-20.
