Standing committees
SCC has two standing committees, which were set up to help the Governing Council perform its duties.
Audit Committee
The Audit Committee plays a key role in assisting Council in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities with respect to the financial management of SCC. The Audit Committee reviews and provides recommendations on financial reporting, risk management and on internal and external audits or special examinations.
Corporate Governance Committee
The Corporate Governance Committee plays a key role to ensure that Council's overall effectiveness is supported by appropriate governance structures and practices. The Corporate Governance Committee ensures that Council fulfills its responsibilities by overseeing the development of governance policy, recruitment strategies and governance structure. The Corporate Governance Committee also establishes the processes to review Council's performance and oversees and approves the Chief Executive Officer's objectives and performance.
