Sub-programs
Safe Quality Food Initiative
We are the only internationally recognized accreditation body in Canada offering the Safe Quality Food Initiative Sub-program, which is based on the SQF Code and ISO/IEC 17065. As a pre-requisite, certification bodies must also be accredited to and ISO/IEC 17065, the international standard for providing product, process and services certification.
Businesses looking to satisfy their retailers’ and buyers’ Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) requirements often turn to SCC-accredited certification bodies for SQF certification and third-party oversight. This program includes 13 codes that are designed to meet industry, customer, and regulatory requirements from all sectors of the food supply chain.
We are signatories to the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA) for ISO/IEC 17065. This means that certification by SCC-accredited certification bodies in this program is widely accepted internationally.
