Sub-programs
PEFC Chain of Custody and Labeling
We are the only internationally recognized accreditation body in Canada offering the PEFC Chain of Custody and Labeling Sub-program, which is based on the PEFC International Chain of Custody Standard, the PEFC Chain of Custody of Forest and Tree Based Products Requirements. As a pre-requisite, certification bodies must also be accredited to and ISO/IEC 17065, the international standard for providing product, process and services certification.
Organizations turn to SCC-accredited certification bodies for PEFC certification. PEFC, the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification, is a global alliance of national forest certification systems. As an international non-profit and non-governmental organization, they are dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management through independent third-party certification.
We are signatories to the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA) for ISO/IEC 17065. This means that certification by SCC-accredited certification bodies in this program is widely accepted internationally.
