We offer this program specialty area under our internationally-recognized Testing and Calibration Laboratories Accreditation Program, which is based on ISO/IEC 17025, the international standard for testing and calibration laboratories. The management system requirements in this standard meet the principles of, and are aligned with ISO 9001, the most widely used quality management system standard.
The program formally recognizes the competence of laboratories providing a range of testing services, including allergen analysis, organic and inorganic chemistry analysis, plant protection, microbiological analysis and veterinary testing for animal health.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) may require accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 by a CFIA-recognized body, like SCC, for laboratories conducting testing in this program specialty area to support regulatory requirements in the CFIA Framework for Quality Management Oversight of Laboratories Conducting Testing in Areas Under the CFIA Mandate.
SCC accreditation serves as a cornerstone for testing laboratories, instilling confidence in their service delivery and fostering customer trust. By securing independent, third-party, and credible test results, laboratories strengthen their industry reputation. Accreditation is widely recognized as a reliable indicator of technical competence, prompting industries to routinely seek accreditation for their laboratory service providers.
We are signatories to the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) for this program programs. This means that testing by SCC-accredited laboratories is widely accepted internationally.
