Revised Edition of the SCC Requirements and Guidance for the Accreditation of Testing Laboratories - ERRATA
Action required
Applicant and accredited laboratories that are being assessed to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 must ensure that their quality systems refer to the current version of the SCC Requirements and Guidance for the Accreditation of Testing Laboratories.
SCC identified the opportunity to include an additional note to clause 7.8.2 in the R&G and decided to publish a new version of the file (Version 3). Laboratories and assessors can download it here.
Affected customers
All accredited and applicant testing laboratories, as well as assessors in this program.
Background
Version 3 is an update to the name and date of this document only to highlight an addendum that was made without any indication. After the R&G was published in January as v2 (dated 2020-01-10), it had an additional clause added in March to clause 7.8.2:
The requirement is only applicable when the claim to accreditation is made in the report.
The document was reposted but was still identified, erroneously as v2 (2020-01-10). It has now been republished as v3 (2020-03-20).
New requirements
For the full list of requirements and additional details please refer to the original bulletin available here.
Deadline
The new SCC Requirements and Guidance for the Accreditation of Testing Laboratories is effective immediately, no NCR will be raised against the additional requirements before July 1st 2020.
