Sub-programs
Electrical Equipment
We are the only accreditation body in Canada offering the Electrical Equipment Sub-program, which is based on CSA SPE-1000. As a pre-requisite, inspection bodies must also be accredited to and ISO/IEC 17020, the international standard for the operation of various types of inspection bodies.
Canadian regulators and authorities at federal, provincial, territorial and municipal levels have embraced the value of third-party assurance as part of their oversight to ensure the quality of inspections. SCC-accredited inspection bodies must establish ongoing documented working relationships with applicable Canadian regulatory authorities in their field.
Organizations that need to get their electrical equipment inspected turn to SCC-accredited inspection bodies for third-party oversight. Reasons include regulatory compliance requirements, conformance to applicable standards and codes, and safety assurance.
