Calibration
We offer this program specialty area under our internationally-recognized Testing and Calibration Laboratories Accreditation Program, which is based on ISO/IEC 17025, the international standard for testing and calibration laboratories. The management system requirements in this standard meet the principles of, and are aligned with ISO 9001, the most widely used quality management system standard.
The program formally recognizes the competence of laboratories calibrating measuring instruments and reference standards for areas of metrology, including acoustics and vibration, dimensional, electrical, frequency and time, ionizing radiation, mechanical, photometric and radiometric, and temperature.
SCC accreditation serves as a cornerstone for calibration laboratories, instilling confidence in their service delivery and fostering customer trust. By securing independent, third-party, and credible test results, calibration laboratories strengthen their industry reputation. Accreditation is widely recognized as a reliable indicator of technical competence, prompting industries to routinely seek accreditation for their calibration service providers.
Our program is conducted in partnership with the National Research Council of Canada’s Calibration Laboratory Assessment Service (NRC-CLAS). Through this collaboration, calibration laboratories undergo assessments by NRC-CLAS. Upon receipt of NRC-CLAS' evaluation and based on their findings, laboratories are accredited by SCC.
We are signatories to the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) for this program programs. This means that testing by SCC-accredited laboratories is widely accepted internationally.
