SCC Guidelines and Procedures for Laboratories with Serious and Critical Nonconformities
Action required
Effective immediately, all laboratories must now refer to SCC Guidelines and Procedures for Laboratories with Serious and Critical Nonconformities and cease referring to CAN-P-1625 - PALCAN Policy on Guidelines and Procedures for Laboratories with Serious and Critical Non-Conformities - November 2006.
Affected customers
This change affects SCC assessors, as well as accredited and applicant laboratories.
Background
This change was made as part of SCC’s overall QMS modernization project. Although this document is written as guidelines directed towards assessors, it has proven useful to accredited and applicant laboratories in the past, and thus will continue to be publicly available on the SCC website.
New requirements
The content of the guidelines has remained largely unchanged. The only significant change is that the guidelines around what were once called “Verification” and “Surveillance” visits has been combined under the umbrella term “Extraordinary Assessments”.
Deadline
This change is effective immediately. Customers are asked to update their documentation as soon as possible.
