Compressed Gas Association earns accreditation to develop National Standards of Canada
The Compressed Gas Association (CGA) is the newest standards development organization to receive accreditation from the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) to develop National Standards of Canada (NSCs) for Canadian stakeholders.
CGA advances safety, efficiency, innovation, and development of best practices in the industrial, food and medical gases industries. Its members include manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, and transporters of gases, cryogenic liquids, and related products and services.
“CGA is proud to be accredited by the Standards Council of Canada,” said Rich Gottwald, President and CEO of the Compressed Gas Association. “For 110 years, the Compressed Gas Association has been dedicated to the development and promotion of safety standards and safe practices for our industry. We are honoured to continue in this mission as just one of 14 SCC-accredited standards development organizations.”
As an accredited standards development organization (SDO), CGA can now submit standards to SCC for acceptance as National Standards of Canada. Industrial, food and medical gases have a key role in Canadian society. They are the invisible ingredients in millions of products used in everyday life. CGA brings immense expertise to Canada’s standardization system.
