Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation
We are the only accreditation body in Canada offering the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)’s Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA), which is based on the SCC Requirements and Guidance for Accreditation of GHG Verifiers for ICAO-CORSIA Emissions and Emissions Unit Cancellation Reports and ICAO’s Standards and Recommended Practices and the Environmental Technical Manual.
CORSIA is a global measure designed to offset international aviation carbon emissions and stabilize their levels. It is the first global market-based measure for any sector and represents a cooperative approach that moves away from a patchwork of national or regional regulatory initiatives.
As a pre-requisite, verification bodies must be accredited to the Verification and Validation Accreditation Program, which is based on ISO/IEC 17029, ISO 14065 and ISO 14066.
