Important Information Affecting your Certificate of Accreditation

ISO/IEC 17011:2004 defines “accreditation certificate” as the formal document or a set of documents, stating that accreditation has been granted for the defined scope. SCC meets this definition by issuing a set of two documents: the frameable certificate and the Scope of Accreditation published on its website.

To reduce the frequency of sending a frameable certificate and to increase accuracy of information related to your accreditation status, the expiry date will only show on the published Scope, an online public record referenced from the frameable certificate. Both documents contain the initial accreditation date. The Scope shows the date of the most recent accreditation or reaccreditation in addition to the accreditation expiry date. The frameable certificate also shows the initial accreditation date as well as a certificate issue date. The new certificate has a footnote that reads “The validity of this certificate, including the date of last re-accreditation and its expiry can be confirmed by the accompanying Scope of Accreditation document in the Directory of Accredited Bodies on the SCC website”. All other fields are unchanged from your current certificate.

Action required

Over the coming months, SCC will issue you a new frameable certificate. Thereafter, you may receive a replacement certificate to revise information shown on it (e.g. for name changes or revised standards). The signed original will be couriered to you. SCC will also make available a high quality digital version of the frameable certificate, suitable for display on your organization’s website.
