Standard for the Servicing of Commercial Cooking Area Extinguishing Systems
1.1 These requirements apply to companies involved in installing and servicing of commercial cooking area extinguishing systems and equipment in accordance with the National Fire Code of Canada (NFCC), NFPA 17A, and the manufacturer’s installation, operation and maintenance manual. NOTE: NFCC includes any Federal, Provincial, Territorial, or local legislation or regulations as may exist. 1.2 These requirements apply to the servicing, which includes recharging, maintenance, repair, inspection, testing and decommissioning of wet chemical and dry chemical systems. 1.3 Maintenance, repair and inspection shall be performed in accordance with NFPA 17A, Standard for Wet Chemical Extinguishing Systems and NFPA 96, Standard for Ventilation Controls for Fire Protection of Commercial Cooking Operations, as applicable. 1.4 These requirements do not apply to the servicing of portable fire extinguishers.
