CAN/CGSB-3.517-2013
1. SCOPE
1.1 This standard applies to two types of ultra low-sulphur diesel fuel, Type A and Type B, suitable for use in highspeed
diesel engines, in on-road and off-road applications and in select medium speed applications.
1.2 Type A is intended for use in selected applications or when ambient temperatures require better low-temperature
properties than Type B.
1.3 Fuel meeting this standard may be used for underground mining applications that were formerly covered by
CAN/CGSB-3.16 (See footnote 2 and Appendix B for notes related to the flashpoint).
1.4 The testing and evaluation of a product against this standard may require the use of materials and/or equipment
that could be hazardous. This document does not purport to address all the safety aspects associated with its use.
Anyone using this standard has the responsibility to consult the appropriate authorities and to establish appropriate
health and safety practices in conjunction with any applicable regulatory requirements prior to its use.
