Luminaires - Part 2: Particular Requirements - Section 2: Recessed Luminaires
This National Standard of Canada is based on International Standard CEI/IEC 598-2-2:1996 (second edition, 1996-05), including Amendment 1:1997. 2.1 Scope This section of IEC 598 specifies requirements for recessed luminaires for use with tugsten filament, tubular fluorescent and other discharge lamps to be installed and used on branch circuits not exceeding 750 V and used in accordance with the rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1. This section does not apply to air-handling or liquid-cooled luminaires. Note: Manufacturers designing products for use in Canada may find a helpful summary of the equipment-related requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1, in CSA Publication SPE-2000. 2.1A The requirements of clause 8, "Recessed Luminaires - Supplementary Requirements", of CSA Standard CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 9 shall apply.
