This National Standard of Canada is based on International Standard CEI/IEC 598-2-1:1979 (first edition, 1979), including Amendment 1:1987. 1.1 Scope This section of Part 2 of IEC Publication 598 specifies requirements for fixed general purpose luminaires for use with tungsten filament, tubular fluorescent and other discharge lamps on supply voltages not exceeding 750 V. It is to be read in conjunction with those sections of Part 1 to which reference is made.
