Inorganic Zinc Coating
1. SCOPE 1.1 This standard applies to inorganic zinc coating for use on steel superstructures, decks and hulls of vessels, bridges, towers, offshore drilling rigs, tank linings and reconditioned equipment that may be exposed to aggressive environnments, marine atmospheres and to intermittent immersion¹ in fresh or salt water. 1.2 The coating is suitable for use in areas where recoating is difficult, expensive, abnormally time consuming or where the life of conventional coatings has been found to be too short. 1.3 The testing and evaluation of a product against this standard may require the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous. This document does not purport to address all the safety aspects associated with its use. Anyone using this standard has the responsibility to consult the appropriate authorities and to establish appropriate health and safety practices in conjunction with any applicable regulatory requirements prior to its use. ¹ Subject to the manufacturer's instructions, this coating may be used for total immersion conditions in sea water.
