Aviation Turbine Fuel, Wide Cut Type
1. Scope 1.1 This standard applies to two grades of wide cut aviation turbine fuel consisting entirely of hydrocarbon compounds, except as otherwise specified. Wide cut aviation fuels are naphtha/kerosine blends having a wide boiling range, low flash, and low freezing point properties. 1.2 Grade JET B describes a fuel that is used in commercial operations. F-40 is a NATO code number for fuel used within the armed forces. 1.3 Intended Uses - Grade JET B and Grade F-40 are intended for use in aircraft which are certified to use such fuels. Operators should refer to their aircraft manuals for any limitations regarding the use of such fuels. 1.4 The testing and evaluation of a product against this standard may require the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous.
