1. Scope 1.1 This standard applies to etch primer used as a pretreatment or tie-coat on clean, dry, metal surfaces, prior to the application of a succeeding coating system. This coating is used to improve the adhesion of the coating. 1.2 The testing and evaluation of a product against this standard may require the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous.
