1. Scope 1.1 This standard is intended for use as a guide in the correct choice of standard products for cleaning operations in public buildings and equipment. The standard divided into two parts as follows: 1.1.1 Part 1 contains general recommendations and precautions on the cleaning of floors, walls and woodwork in public buildings. 1.1.2 Part 2 gives a summary of form, properties and uses of soaps, detergents and cleaning agents covered by the CAN/CGSB 2 series of standards. Note: A map showing the hardness of Canadian surface waters is given in Appendix A. 1.2 The testing and evaluation of a product against this standard may require the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous. This document does not purport to address all the safety aspects associated with its use.
