Standard for Shop Fabricated Steel Aboveground Vertical Tanks for Flammable and Combustible Liquids
1. Scope 1.1 These requirements cover single and double wall cylindrical vertical steel non-pressure tanks that are used for the aboveground storage of flammable liquids and combustible liquids such as gasoline, fuel oil, or similar products with a relative density not greater than 1.0. 1.2 Section 3 of these requirements cover single wall tanks. Section 4 of these requirements cover double wall tanks. 1.3 These requirements cover tanks which are fabricated, inspected and tested for leakage before shipment from the factory. 1.4 These requirements cover tanks of capabilities not greater than 175 000 L. 1.5 The requirements of this Standard are for the construction of stationary tanks. The installation of such tanks may be covered by any of the following documents: A National Fire Code of Canada, Part 4; B CSA B139, Installation Code for Oil Burning Equipment; and C Regulations of the appropriate Authority Having Jurisdiction.
