Standard for Shop Fabricated Steel Aboveground Horizontal Tanks for Flammable and Combustible Liquids
1. Scope 1.1 These requirements cover single and double wall cylindrical horizontal steel non-pressure tanks that are used for the aboveground storage of flammable liquids and combustible liquids such as gasoline, fuel oil, or similar products with a relative density not greater than 1.0. 1.2 Section 3 of these requirements cover single wall tanks. 1.3 Section 4 of these requirements cover double wall tanks. 1.4 These requirements cover tanks which are fabricated, inspected and tested for leakage before shipment from the factory. 1.5 These requirements do not cover tanks of capacities greater than 200 000 L. 1.6 These requirements cover the construction of tanks for use in stationary installations. The installation of such tanks may be covered by any of the following documents: A National Fire Code of Canada, Part 4; B CSA B139, Installation Code for Oil Burning Equipment; and C Regulations of the appropriate Authority Having Jurisdiction.
