1.1 This standard covers the inspection and test methods for the verification of dimensional, mechanical and physical properties of flat, corrugated, grooved or fluted asbestos-cement sheets, as well as those of shingles, bulkheading, molded roofing sheets and pavements tiles. 1.2 This standard includes the following control and testing methods : a) control of geometric characteristics (section 5); b) flexural strength test and determination of deflection at rupture (section 6); c) water absorption resistance test (section 7); d) determination of density (section 8); e) determination of organic matter content (section 9); f) waterproofness test (section 10); g) freeze resistance test (section 11); h) determination of thermal conductivity (section 12); i) colour stability test (section 13). NOTE - Product characteristics are given in the standard product specifications, as well as the control and testing methods that may be used to determine compliance.
