1.1 General This Standard sets forth the requirements for cement prepared specifically for use in masonry mortars.* *Masonry cement is also sold under other names: Mortar Cement, Mortar Mix (Unsanded), Masons Cement, Brick Cement, White Mortar Cement, etc. 1.2 Classification of Masonry Cement 1.2.1 Type n For use in the preparation of Type N masonry mortar, or with the use of Portland cement additions, capable of producing Type S mortar as specified in CSA Standard CAN/CSA-A179. 1.2.2 Type s For use in the preparation of Type S masonry mortar as specified in CSa Standard CAN/CSA-A179, without the use of Portland cement additions.
