1.1 This standard applies to three grades of kerosine type aviation turbine fuel consisting entirely of hydrocarbon compounds, except as otherwise specified. 1.2 Grades JET A and JET A-1 describe fuels normally used in commercial operations. Grade F-34 describes a fuel used within the NATO armed forces. 1.3 Jet A is suitable for summer use (May 1 - October 31) without operational restrictions (par. 9.2).
