1. Scope
1.1
This Standard applies to clock-operated switches, rated 600 V or less, designed
to be used in ordinary locations to close and open circuits to a load at
predetermined intervals, and intended to be employed in accordance with the
Rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I. The clock-operated switches

contacts are actuated by a clock-work, a gear-train, hand, electrically wound
spring motors, electric clock-type motors, electronic circuits, or equivalent
arrangements. In addition to closing and/or opening the switching contacts,
the clock-operated switches may also indicate the time of day or time interval.
Requirements for TV-rated clock-operated switches are also given.
