1.1 These guidelines provide a uniform basis for labelling and laboratory evaluation of the performance (effectiveness and durability) of residential weather strip products. The products are intended for use on doors, windows and similar features in residences to reduce air leakage and to improve the energy efficiency. 1.2 For more detailed information on intended uses, see par. 8.1. 1.3 These guidelines do not include criteria for evaluation of the tested performance. The acceptance criteria must be established prior to testing, taking into account the type of product and its designated application(s) (see par. 8.2).
