This National Standard of Canada is equivalent to American National Standard ANSI/BHMA A156.1-1981 in total, without any modification. Cyclical, lateral and vertical wear tests together with finish tests requiring salt spray exposures are a part of this standard. Individual hinge types are described and identified with code numbers. For full-mortise hinges, three performance levels are established setting forth degrees of permissible wear and number of cycles required.
