Standard Method of Test for Flame Resistance - Methenamine Tablet Test for Textile Floor Coverings
ULC Standards has withdrawn this Standard effective July 24, 2014 due to the lack of use and reference in the Canadian Industry and Regulations. 1. PURPOSE AND SCOPE 1.1 This method determines the flammability of finished textile floor covering materials when exposed to an ignition source (methenamine tablet) under specified conditions. 1.2 This method is applicable to all types of textile floor coverings regardless of fibre type or method of contruction. 1.3 This method describes the testing of a single specimen and is to be used in conjunction with a statistically valid sampling plan based on a minimum of ten specimens. Note: Under the Hazardous Products Act requirements for soft floor coverings, the number of specimens to be tested is based on the Standard CAN/CGSB-4.155M, Flammability of Soft Floor Coverings - Sampling Plans. (Amendment No. 1 dated January 1992, revised Clause 1.3) 1.4 This test method may require the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous. This document does not purport to address all the safety aspects associated with its use.
