1. Scope 1.1 This Standard applies to trucks designed primarily for use on the road and defines a procedure for measuring the maximum exterior sound level emitted by trucks with governed diesel engines. The measurement is made with the vehicle stationary and with the transmission in neutral. 1.2 The procedure defined in this Standard is primarily intended as a basis for establishing the sound level emitted by a vehicle in use.
