The Standard for Safety for Marine Lifesaving Appliances: Lifejackets
Scope:
UL 9550 applies to commercial and recreational lifejackets intended to be worn to provide flotation in situations where a drowning hazard exists.
These requirements cover wearable and stowable lifejackets used by adults, children, and infants.
This safety standard specifies requirements for construction, performance, marking and test methods.
