Scope:

Currently, the controls and indicator section does not specifically indicate the applicable standards and associated conditions of use for the types of heat detectors.

The proposal is to include reference to the applicable types and associated standards for the heat detectors along with the associated conditions of use.

Also, this proposal is to correct the reference at the end of Clause 46.1 from 44.3 (Operation Test of Manual Actuators and Manual Pull Stations) to 46.3. It was correct in Edition 4 of UL 1254.

Project need:

Amendments are necessary to an existing Joint Canada-US standard.
