Scope

1.1 This Standard contains the physical property requirements, and test methods to determine these properties, for wood fibre manufactured in the form of faced or unfaced boards, sheets or panels used for insulation in buildings and other applications, whether applied on a building site or in a prefabrication (manufacturing) facility.
 
1.2 The Standard covers two types of wood fibre insulation on the basis of their material properties. The products covered by this standard are classified into Types, Classes and Grades based on their physical properties.
 
1.3 The wood fibre insulating boards shall not be used when the continuous service temperature is outside the range of -30 °C to +80 °C.
 
1.4 The testing and evaluation of a product against this Standard may require the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous. This document does not purport to address all the health and safety aspects associated with its use. Anyone using this Standard has the responsibility to consult the appropriate authorities and to establish health and safety practices, in conjunction with any existing applicable regulatory requirements, prior to its use.
