Scope

This Standard specifies the requirements for the installation of thermal insulating bead-applied two-component polyurethane foam used as an insulating air sealant (including a component within an air barrier system) for both building and non-building applications. The material is installed as air sealant foam in holes, cracks or gaps.

These are requirements for both the manufacturer and the installer.

The requirements in this Standard only apply to the use of bead-applied two component polyurethane foam when the continuous service temperature is in the range of -60 to +110 °C.

These requirements include the proper selection of the air sealant foam, installation requirements, limitations for the installation, testing, recommendations for safety and recommendations for disposal of associated waste material and packaging.
