Scope

This Standard outlines requirements for the installation of factory pre-packaged bead-applied one component polyurethane foam used as an insulating air sealant for both building and non-building applications. The material is installed as air sealant foam in holes, cracks or gaps in buildings or in a prefabrication (manufacturing) process.

The requirements in this Standard apply for both the manufacturer and the installer.

The requirements in this Standard only apply to the use of bead-applied one component polyurethane foam when the continuous service temperature is in the range of -60 to +110 °C.

The requirements in this Standard include the proper selection of the air sealant foam, installation requirements, limitations for the installation, testing and recommendations for safety and for disposal of associated waste material and packaging.
