Scope:

This Standard applies to hand-fuelled solid-fuel fired space heaters of the radiant, convection or forced-circulating type, intended for residential heating.

This Standard applies to:

  1. Space heaters having provision for venting directly to the outdoors;
  2. Outdoor-aired space heaters intended for installation primarily in mobile homes; and
  3. Space heaters utilizing catalytic combustion elements (combustors).

This Standard does not cover built-in factory-built fireplaces or incinerators.
