This Standard covers requirements for photoluminescent and self-luminous exit signs and path marking systems. Such equipment is intended to provide exit and directional information to assist occupants to evacuate a facility.

This Standard covers requirements for photoluminescent and self-luminous exit signs and egress (exit) path marking systems intended for installation as required by applicable codes.

This Standard does not cover requirements for unit equipment of electrically powered exit signs.
