Standard for Mineral Fibre Thermal Insulation for Buildings, Part 2: Installation
Scope:
These Guidelines specify the requirements for installation of mineral fibre thermal insulation products for buildings, such that when installed a product manufactured and packaged according to CAN/ULC-S702 will provide the properties declared by the manufacturer.
These Guidelines stipulate the requirements for the installation of the product, documentation on the installation and a declaration by the insulation installer that the installation has been done in accordance with these Guidelines.
These Guidelines do not specify all the requirements for the product to determine fitness for purpose according to their intended use; some of these aspects are specified in Building Codes. The insulation installer must ensure, when choosing a product, that the product is suitable for the application (i.e. wall insulation or attic insulation, etc), based on the manufacturer’s recommendations.
The material, as installed, may have to meet additional requirements specified by the authority having jurisdiction and/or the customer.
