This Standard covers the installation, location and proper use of path marking systems and exit signage in buildings, including the exit door, exit stairway shafts, exit stairs, obstacles and pathway marking lines, handrail markings, stair treads / strips and all egress signages.  The guideline document is based on study and findings conducted by National Research Council (NRC) and Public Works and Services Canada.
