Scope

1.1  This Standard describes the requirements for the application and installation of ancillary devices which interact with a fire alarm system. This Standard shall be applied in conjunction with CAN/ULC-S524, Standard for Installation of Fire Alarms Systems.

NOTE: This Standard is intended to apply to ancillary device installations for both required and voluntary fire alarm system installations. See Appendix A (Informative) Explanatory Materials, Clause A1.1.

1.2  The installation of ancillary devices not covered by these requirements shall be in accordance with good engineering practice and manufacturer's installation guidelines.
