Standard for Hose Swivel Connectors for Flammable and Combustible Liquids
Scope:
This Standard sets forth minimum requirements for hose swivel connectors intended to be used for the service of flammable and combustible liquids. For the purposes of this Standard, flammable and combustible liquids mean gasoline, fuel oil, kerosene and diesel fuel, including gasoline with small amounts of additives such as detergents, solvents for detergents and anti-icing chemicals, diesel with up to 5% biodiesel and gasoline with up to 15% ethanol or methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE).
A hose swivel connector is intended for use with dispensing devices to facilitate handling of the hose nozzle valve and/or hose without subjecting the hose to twisting or torsional stress.
Requirements for the installation and use of equipment handling flammable and combustible liquids may be included in the National Fire Code of Canada and the regulations of the authority having jurisdiction.
