This standard defines the requirements for new automotive fire apparatus and trailers designed to be used under emergency conditions to transport personnel and equipment and to support the suppression of fires and mitigation of other hazardous situations.

Project Need
ULC Standards is developing the Fourth Edition of CAN/ULC S515, Standard for Automobile Fire Fighting Apparatus by adopting the 2016 Edition of NFPA 1901. The standard will be published as a National Standard of Canada which will include the requirements in NFPA 1901 as well as any Canadian Deviations to ensure that CAN/ULC S515 continues to meet industry and stakeholder needs.
