Note: The title for this NOI (originally published on June 6, 2023) were updated by the responsible SDO on February 27, 2024. This standard will establish minimum performance requirements for adult changing tables. These adult changing tables would be located in public toilet rooms of commercial buildings. An important aspect of these requirements would be structural stability, size of the table, cleanability, side rail requirements.

These devices are being installed with more frequency in commercial and public buildings. Currently there are not safety standards to protect the users of the device. Currently standards for these devices in Canada do not exist. This standard meets the needs of stakeholders: Architects, Plumbing contractors, Codes officials, Manufacturers, care givers for persons with disabilities.
