Agile and open procurement of digital solutions
Scope:
This National Standard specifies minimum requirements for preparing, developing, and conducting challenge-based, agile, and open procurement of digital products and services.
This Standard defines a framework for organizations evaluating the suitability of digital products and service providers using “challenge-based” criteria. This methodology requires organizations to source digital, technological, research-based and defence products and services to illustrate desired outcomes rather than issuing prescriptive requirements.
This Standard applies to all organizations, including public and private companies, government entities, and not-for-profit organizations.
Project need:
An immediate and significant opportunity exists for the federal government to stimulate the economy and ensure the recovery of Canada's technology and digital sector. Technology solutions that can be rapidly adopted are urgently needed as the industry adapts to the "new normal". To create resiliency, organizations must move to a nimble, agile procurement process that integrates cutting edge innovations into service delivery, while fueling economic growth.
