This Standard specifies requirements and provides guidance for the systematic Application of Ergonomics to the development, design, use, management, and improvement of work systems through the implementation of an Ergonomics Process.

Project need:

Project Need
To update the current standard due to user experience and feedback and to maintain alignment with other CSA occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS) standards and international requirements. This proposed New Edition is being developed at the request of the Technical Committee on Workplace Ergonomics. It will provide organizations with an updated framework to enhance worker health, safety, and well-being and optimize system performance to prevent occupational injuries, illnesses, and fatalities and/or reduce the severity of harm related to occupational activities and work environments through the systematic Application of Ergonomics.
