Scope:

This standard specifies design and performance requirements for trench drains, utility channel, and grate 
systems that are used inside or, or adjacent to, building structures that are typically non-residential.  These channels are not typically subject to high speed vehicles but may encounter concentrated heavy loads such as hard-wheeled forklifts.

Project need:

To harmonize the current standard with the ASME standard under development and in doing so to update the standards due to user experience/feedback/new technology (new standard)
