Scope

The fourth edition of the CSA C390, Test methods, marking requirements, and energy efficiency levels for 
three phase induction motors has been reaffirmed twice since the 2010 publication. In the last ten years, 
publication reviews and revisions have been completed by other standards organizations and regulatory 
bodies for the types of motors specified in the standard. A review of the C390 standard is proposed to include 
the most current methods and information be incorporated in the publication. 

Project need:

Project Need
The project need is to update the current standard due to revisions by other standards organizations and regulatory bodies. (new edition). This proposed New Edition is being developed at the request of C402 technical committee on industrial energy efficiency and energy efficiency funders. It will provide the industry with the latest revisions to the induction motor test procedure.
