This Standard specifies requirements for a safety management system for health care facilities. This Standard is applicable to various types of health care facilities and informed by best practices from other safety critical industries. It is intended to help prevent or minimize potential adverse events involving patients, staff, and visitors. It is not intended to address clinical practice.
