This Standard describes the design, construction, load rating, installation, erection, inspection, maintenance, repair, modification, test, and operation of lattice and telescopic boom mobile cranes.

The next edition is expected to improve safety by including: i) increased harmonization of design requirements with EN 13000; ii) review of annual inspection requirements; iii) review of requirements for crane set-up; and iv) review of requirements for personnel lifting (i.e., rated number of people in basket vs. rated number of anchor points).
